What the Healthier Cat report on your desk contains and how to recommend the app.

Healthier Cat is an iPhone app for owners of older cats with kidney disease, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, heart disease, arthritis or chronic gut disease. Owners log doses, a short daily check-in and measurements at home, and bring you a summary instead of trying to remember the last month.

What the report shows

The one-page report covers a set period, usually the last 30 days, and includes these records.

  • the cat's conditions as you staged them
  • weight at the start and end of the period, with a chart and the weighing method
  • average appetite and how often the cat vomited
  • accidents outside the litter box and loose stools
  • days drinking or peeing more than usual
  • good, okay and hard days

Every current medicine is listed with its schedule and how many scheduled doses were given. Any dose changes and the owner's questions for you follow.

Owners with Healthier Cat Pro can send a longer report with a second page. It covers lab trends, glucose readings, sleeping breath counts, fluids sessions, quality-of-life scores and their own notes.

The visit pack and care passport

The expanded visit pack brings together recorded questions, recent observations, logging coverage, medicine changes and lab results. Longer records continue across pages. The care passport is a separate, free handoff containing owner-entered identity, allergies, diet, medicines, recent recorded doses, routine tasks and contacts. Every PDF is a snapshot.

Comparing observations

Owners with Pro can select a medicine change, visit or date and compare matched windows. Numeric summaries average each logged day equally. Event counts describe recorded events. The app shows days logged and leaves missing records unknown. The comparison does not control for other changes and cannot establish causation or treatment efficacy.

Where the app stops

Everything in the report comes from the owner's own records. Healthier Cat doesn't diagnose and doesn't suggest doses. When a measure drifts from the cat's own recent normal, the app tells the owner it's worth mentioning to you. When a number you gave them is crossed, it tells them to call. You can give owners those numbers, for example a sleeping breath rate or a low glucose level, and they enter them in the app.

Recommending it

Healthier Cat is free for one cat, including the one-page report. Owners can use the free features without a separate account. Healthier Cat is coming to the App Store. Records stay on the owner's iPhone and in their own iCloud, with no account and no data sent to us.
